Q. How do I use the Doktoro matchmaking platform?
Simply click on “Find a Doctor” and you will be redirected to a form you have to fill in. Once you have filled out the registration form, we search our database to find the best available general practitioner in your zip-code area. You will then receive an e-mail with instructions on completing the registration with the selected General Practitioner or confirmation of your appointment.
Q. What services does the matchmaking platform offer?
The Doktoro matchmaking platform provides a GP registration service.
This service automates the process of matching a patient with a General Practitioner (GP), effectively registering the patient with the GP.
Q. Am I required to register with the suggested general practitioner?
You are not obligated to register with the suggested general practitioner. We want to help you make an informed decision, but the choice is ultimately up to you.
Q. Is the matching service free for patients?
Yes, the matchmaking service is free for patients.
Q. How much does a consultation cost?
The cost of a consultation may vary based on whether a patient is registered with a GP or not. In principle for registered patients this amounts to around €30. Unregistered patients can expect to pay €78,25. You may need to pay at the practice before getting reimbursed.
Q. Do I need Dutch health insurance?
No, you do not need Dutch health insurance. However, you will need to pay-up front at the practice before getting reimbursed by your own insurance. If you have a Dutch insurance the consultation fee will be directly billed to the insurance company.
Q. How do you keep my information secure?
We take data security extremely seriously. For instance, the registration form you fill out is end-to-end encrypted. This ensures secure transmission of your data and means that 3rd parties cannot view or access your data. All data stored on our servers is encrypted at rest, and we have comprehensive security policies in place to prevent security breaches.
Q. Are the matched general practitioners licensed and certified?
Yes, all general practitioners are licensed in the Netherlands. Our GP database is verified by cross-referencing the national healthcare professional database (BIG REGISTER).

No, the information provided by Doktoro is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice. Always consult with the appropriate professionals before taking any actions based upon such information.
