What is Doktoro?

Doktoro is a digital platform based in the Netherlands focused on improving access to primary care. We provide structured tools for healthcare stakeholders such as regional healthcare organizations (RHOs), insurers, general practitioners (GPs), and municipalities to monitor capacity, improve regional coordination, optimize patient flow, and support strategic decision-making. For patients, Doktoro offers a simple, guided way to find an available general practitioner in their area through our matchmaking system.

Can patients currently register for a GP?

Not at the moment. Our previous pilot involved GP-patient matchmaking, but we have temporarily paused this feature as we focus on infrastructure and tools for organizations. Patients can still join our waiting list and will be notified when the service becomes available again.

What kind of tools does Doktoro offer?

Our main product suite includes:

  • GP Availability Database: A continuously updated national registry that tracks which practices are accepting new patients, including their status and serviced postal codes
  • Doktoro Dashboard: A capacity visualization tool that provides real-time and predictive insights at the postal code level
  • GP Platform: A web-based portal for practices to manage availability, waiting lists, automate registrations and easily interchange patients
  • Patient-GP Matchmaking Platform: A guided service for patients to get matched with an available GP in their area based on availability, urgency, and location. Designed to simplify the registration process, particularly in regions with shortages

Is Doktoro a data company?

Partly, yes. We collect, structure, and maintain data on GP availability across the Netherlands. This data supports regional planning and capacity management, but it is never sold or used for commercial advertising purposes.

Is your data updated regularly?

Yes. Our data is collected and verified on an ongoing basis, with updates received from RHOs, GP practices, and trusted third-party sources. Practices are able to update their availability directly through the GP Platform.

Is Doktoro available nationwide?

We are currently active in select regions and in discussion with multiple stakeholders to scale our services nationwide.
